- The mission of the JSU Center for University-Based Development is to facilitate partnerships that work with communities adjacent to the Jackson State University Campus in the areas of revitalization, service learning and research.
The goals of the JSU Center for University-Based Developments are:
1. To revitalize the neighborhoods surrounding the campus.
2. To attract development partners to invest in surrounding communities; and
3. To harness and utilize the skills and talents of residents, faculty, staff and students, as well as other resources of the University, to upgrade and/or stablize communities in West Jackson.
